Pet lovers prioritize the health and safety of their beloved animals, often limiting indoor plants to ensure their well-being. However, decorating with flowers can enhance a space aesthetically while also providing a sense of calm and relaxation.

In this piece, I have incorporated traditional Japanese elements, using Washi colors—deeply rooted in Japan’s cultural heritage—and the Sunago technique, a time-honored artistic method.

During my travels, whenever I encounter landscapes of breathtaking beauty that leave me at a loss for words, I find myself drawn not only to the scenery itself, but more deeply to the sense of stillness and lingering resonance it leaves in my heart. In this series, while using the sea and mountains as motifs, I seek to depict the very moments in which the mind becomes calm and quiet. By engaging with the beauty of nature, the heart is gently enriched, and a new sensitivity is awakened. Through these works, I hope that viewers may be released from the noise of everyday life and experience a moment of inner peace as they spend time with the artwork.

Against a backdrop of vast, crystal-clear skies stretching endlessly into the distance, delicate yet beautiful flowers bloomed at my feet. While everyone else was captivated by the breathtaking scenery, I was the only one photographing the flowers. At that moment, I realized that in the presence of overwhelming, grand happiness, the smaller joys in life often fade into the background.

Having great aspirations is admirable, but happiness can also be found within reach. This sentiment is at the heart of my artwork.

This piece also incorporates repurposed tea leaves and coffee grounds—materials that would otherwise be discarded. These substances, thrown away countless times a day, became a meaningful challenge for me to explore. When I first used them as a textural element, I was struck by how undervalued they had been. By recognizing the potential in discarded materials, I was reminded of the power that action holds.

Just as noticing the beauty of small flowers beneath our feet can shift our perspective, I hope this piece inspires a deeper awareness of the small yet meaningful challenges we can address in our daily lives.
